This year\u2019s efforts have focused on\u00a0digital health,\u00a0STEM education, and\u00a0ICT regulation, aligning with the\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\u00a0to ensure that technology expands opportunities rather than deepens inequalities. Expanding our\u00a0International Training Programme (ITP)\u00a0through the\u00a0Team Europe Initiative\u00a0has strengthened our ability to support\u00a0African telecom regulators, increasing knowledge-sharing and collaboration across borders.<\/p>\n<p>The need for\u00a0<strong>digital inclusion<\/strong>\u00a0has never been more pressing. According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU),\u00a02.6 billion people remain offline, with Africa accounting for the largest share. Without action, this divide will reinforce existing economic disparities. SPIDER\u2019s role is to help close that gap by working with partners to ensure that\u00a0digitalisation reaches those who need it most.<\/p>\n<p>As we move into 2024, our focus remains on practical solutions that put people first. Digital transformation should not be a top-down process\u2014it should be built with and for communities. SPIDER will continue working to ensure that technology serves as a tool for equity rather than exclusion.
