digital research environments<\/h2>\n<p>The University bilateral programmes that are part of SPIDER\u2019s portfolio work with<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>digital infrastructure development and expansion,<\/li>\n<li>systems development and maintenance,<\/li>\n<li>capacity building of IT staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SPIDER is strategically placed at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences to coordinate the exchange of expertise and knowledge between partner universities and Swedish public institutions.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_section et_pb_text_5  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>SPIDER has managed this bilateral programme since January 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration has resulted in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">Upgraded IT infrastructure appropriately serving the University<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Internet connection at RUPP campus 2\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Wireless internet connection at both university campuses<\/li>\n<li>Improved teaching environment and providing opportunities for blended learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">SPIDER and RUPP is currently working on the automation of RUPP workflow processes, including laboratory management system, library information management system, and systems to support university management processes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Through the professional development component of this programme, key staff in IT services have visited Stockholm university to exchange knowledge of systems use at institutions of higher learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration has resulted in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Infrastructure to enable the university's e-learning environment and internal documentation<\/li>\n<li>Technical assessment of the ICT resources and skills available at all university campuses of UR<\/li>\n<li>Robust data and network services for university employees and students<\/li>\n<li>Security audit and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Capacity building of ICT staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The collaboration will work on single-sign-on solutions for the university and further strengthening of the ICT infrastructure et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>Tanzania Commission of Science and Technology coordinates research in the country and advises the government on science issues. The targeted programme managed by SPIDER in partnership with the Swedish Research Council and SPIDER allocates funds for research to build capacity of COSTECH staff for up-to-date science knowledge, and enable research communication as well as better data management. This ensures the ability to run machine learning, AI and data harvesting at the University. The Directorate of Library services has through this programme improved access to e-resources, and supported the creation of digital rooms for users with functional variabilities, such as persons who
