One of the most strategic decisions in the programme\u2019s design was to build\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nomadilab-%20ehr.github.io\/raad-docs\">RAAD<\/a>, the electronic health record (EHR) system, by customising<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bahmni.or\/\">\u00a0Bahmni<\/a>\u2014a globally recognised digital health global good. <\/span><span>Global goods, such as Bahmni and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dhis2.org\/\">DHIS2<\/a>, are open-source, widely used, and continually supported by vibrant international communities. These platforms are specifically designed for low-resource settings and benefit from years of global experience and iterative development. By leveraging Bahmni, HADDA was able to accelerate development, ensure cost-efficiency, and build on proven functionality, rather than starting from scratch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>This approach supports long-term sustainability in several ways:<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"> Local adaptability, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Cost efficiency, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Community support and <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Future-proofing. <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The decision to use a global good has positioned RAAD as more than a project deliverable\u2014it is now a scalable and nationally endorsed platform that other partners and regions can build on, ensuring continuity and avoiding fragmentation in the digital health space.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_2 et_animated  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_1_2 et_pb_column et_pb_column_3  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_heading et_pb_heading_1 et_pb_bg_layout_\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_heading_container\"><h1 class=\"et_pb_module_heading\">People-Centered Technology: The Key to Lasting Impact<\/h1><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_2  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span>While the underlying technology matters, how people interact with it is just as important. HADDA has prioritized people-centered design from the very beginning, recognizing that successful digital transformation hinges on the experience and needs of its end users. <\/span><span>RAAD was developed not just for health workers and public institutions\u2014but with them. Feedback loops were built into every phase of the project, from early pilot testing to ongoing refinements based on real-world use. This approach ensured that the system was intuitive, relevant, and responsive to those who rely on it daily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Why this matters: <\/span><strong>Improved adoption, Reduced resistance to change, Better data quality, Human capacity development.\u00a0<\/strong><span>By placing people at the center of technology, HADDA has gone beyond simply \u201cdeploying an EHR.\u201d It has nurtured a digital culture within the health system\u2014one where trust, usability, and purpose drive engagement and long-term success.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div
