{"id":2347,"date":"2023-10-25T09:14:47","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T09:14:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp-spider.dsv.su.se\/?p=2347"},"modified":"2026-04-14T13:19:23","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T12:19:23","slug":"holicare-in-addis-abeba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spidercenter.org\/index.php\/2023\/10\/25\/holicare-in-addis-abeba\/","title":{"rendered":"HoliCare in Addis Abeba"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_section et_pb_section_0  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_section_regular et_block_section\" >\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_0  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_3_5 et_pb_column et_pb_column_0  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_0  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/holicare-project.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HoliCare Diagnostics project<\/a> team gathered in Addis Abeba on the last week of October 2023 to hold the annual meeting and engage in hands-on project work.<\/p>\n<p><span>SPIDER, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.su.se\/department-of-computer-and-systems-sciences\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University<\/a> co-ordinated the workshop with Armauer Hansen Research Insitute in Addis Abeba.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The HoliCare project is a unique\u00a0<\/span><span>opportunity to support young African scientists to <\/span><span>acquire applied knowledge in patient management and epidemic surveillance by\u00a0 <\/span><span>converging diagnostic technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the photos, you see our Director Dr. Caroline Wamala Larsson, and colleague Dr. Muna Elmi with partners Dr. Hiwot Abayneh (AHRI) and Dr Steven Odong (Makerere University). Participants seen in images and videos have given their consent to display these images as part of the Holicare project.<\/p>\n<p><span><a href=\"https:\/\/holicare-project.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HOLICARE<\/a> is funded by the European Commission as part of the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme, under Grant Agreement N\u00ba
