Holicare: Upcoming events in 2024



As part of the capacity building activities through training for strengthened human capital, Stockholm University, SPIDER, that leads work package seven (WP7), facilitate different groups of researchers and practitioners from across the Holicare consortium to gain exposure and hands on training in the research areas that are of the project interests. Trainings and knowledge sharing are done through Workshops, Conferences, Webinars and research exchanges (secondments).



Webinar 23 February

This webinar will focus on the Introduction and Applications of Bioinformatics, one of the key areas of the HoliCare project capacity building. The target audience for this Webinar 3 include the consortium member institutions as well as the general public interested in the field of Bioinformatics. If you want to join, please register here.

Annual workshops and annual conference

The second annual workshop and the annual conference are being organized in collaboration with Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). These activities will take place in September, 2024 and intend to attract both the academia and industry within and outside the HoliCare Consortium. The main focus of the upcoming annual workshop and annual conference is on diagnostic technologies and control of lower respiratory tract infections.



Secondments

The secondments are being organized between beneficiary and hosting institutions under the coordination of SPIDER. Under this activity, researchers and students from the consortium project members expect to spend a couple of weeks at the hosting universities, research and industries in Europe, for research collaboration and exposure to state-of-the-art labs and technologies for improving their practical knowledge on diagnostic technologies, clinical research and biotechnologies.

What is the Holicare project?

HoliCare builds a holistic approach in patient management and epidemic surveillance through convergence of diagnostic technologies, capacity building and stakeholder engagement. The project responds to research findings on poverty related diseases in sub-Saharan Africa showing that limitations in technological and non-technological resources, which affect diagnostics can ensure proper healthcare services.

The focus is on lower respiratory tract infections and to ensure a holistic approach to bridging the hard and soft infrastructures needed to improve diagnostic care in sub-Saharan Africa. With the overall goal to improve healthcare delivery in sub-Saharan Africa by ensuring innovative diagnostic solutions for these infections.

Holicare project is delivered by a consortium of partners from Europe and Africa with a wide range of expertise in health diagnostics and managment, clincial trials, microfluidic technologies, Artificial Intelligence solutions and impact innovation.
